UAE Automotive and Auto Parts Market

The UAE automotive market is undergoing a period of structural change. While overall vehicle sales have shown some fluctuations in 2026, the market continues to evolve with the rapid growth of Chinese automotive brands, electric and hybrid vehicles, and a more diversified aftermarket.

Growing Presence of Chinese Car Brands

One of the most visible changes in the UAE automotive market is the growing presence of Chinese brands.

Brands such as BYD, Jetour, Geely, Haval, Chery, MG, Zeekr and others are increasingly visible across the UAE, offering a wide range of SUVs, sedans, electric vehicles and hybrid models. Chinese brands are expanding beyond the traditional value segment, with more models entering the mid-range and premium markets.

This is gradually changing the structure of the UAE vehicle market and increasing the diversity of models on the road.

Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Continue to Expand

Electrification is another important trend.

Despite fluctuations in the overall UAE vehicle market, EV sales continued to grow in 2026. According to recent market data, electric vehicles accounted for around 12% of new vehicle sales in the UAE, supported by wider model availability, improved charging infrastructure and the arrival of more competitively priced EVs.

Local Availability Is Becoming Increasingly Important

The UAE's role as a regional automotive and logistics hub is also influencing the aftermarket.

For commonly used maintenance parts, local inventory and regional distribution can shorten delivery times considerably. However, the situation is different for newer models and less common components. Lighting assemblies and specialized electronic or EV components may still have more limited availability.

This creates a more differentiated aftermarket, where some high-volume parts are widely available while specialized components remain more dependent on international supply chains.

Digitalization of Automotive Aftermarket

Digitalization is another long-term trend in the UAE automotive aftermarket.

Consumers and workshops increasingly use online platforms to search for vehicle parts, compare products and identify compatible components. E-commerce, online catalogues and digital communication channels are gradually becoming part of the automotive parts purchasing process.

As vehicle models become more diverse, digital tools can also make it easier to identify parts by brand, model, year and application.

Overall, the UAE automotive market is becoming more diversified, more technology-driven and more competitive. The growth of Chinese brands and new-energy vehicles is not simply adding more vehicle choices; it is also gradually reshaping the structure of the automotive aftermarket and the types of parts and services required in the UAE.
